Brighton Wednesday weather currently offers a more promising outdoor window for half-term on 28 October, with sunny spells, a forecast high of 16°C and lighter winds than Tuesday.

At a glance

  • Wednesday 28 October: sunny conditions developing into sunny intervals.
  • The Brighton forecast reaches around 16°C in the early afternoon.
  • Daytime winds are mostly 6–11mph, with gusts around 18–22mph.
  • Sunset is listed at 4.42pm GMT: plan a daylight finish for an unfamiliar walk.

Brighton Wednesday weather: the useful planning window

The Met Office’s Brighton forecast, updated at 5pm on Monday 26 October, gives low rain probabilities through Wednesday daytime. Its hourly outlook shows temperatures rising from about 9°C at 7am to 16°C around noon–3pm, before cooling later.

That contrasts with Tuesday’s early heavy rain and stronger gusts. Wednesday’s forecast is a separate day’s outlook; it should not replace checks for an outing before then. Our Tuesday forecast covers the preceding day.

The wider London and South East outlook still allows isolated showers on Wednesday. A low probability at the Brighton forecast point is therefore not a promise that every part of Sussex will stay dry.

What residents should do

For a half-term trip, compare your intended departure and return hours on the official forecast before leaving. Take a layer for the cooler start and evening, and use the forecast for your destination if travelling beyond Brighton.

If choosing the seafront, check the separate Brighton Beach forecast. A land forecast alone does not establish sea conditions or whether a water activity is suitable. Check the Met Office warning map for your actual route as well.

Brighton Locals’ view

Wednesday looks like the better opportunity for flexible outdoor plans in this comparison. The sensible choice is to keep those plans adjustable: the useful improvement is lower forecast wind and rain, not certainty about the whole day.

What happens next

Recheck on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. A later change to rain timing, wind or warnings would change the recommendation.

Use Wednesday’s brighter outlook to plan an option, then confirm it closer to departure.
