Brighton Monday weather is forecast to improve after a cloudier start on 2 November, with sunny spells during the working day. The city’s point forecast reaches around 13°C in the early afternoon, while the north to north-easterly breeze makes it feel cooler.

At a glance

  • Early-hours rain probabilities reach 40% before falling towards the morning commute.
  • At 8am, the city forecast shows 10°C, feeling like 7°C.
  • Daytime sunny spells do not remove the need for a warm outer layer.
  • Elm Grove junction works begin on Monday, independently of the weather.

Brighton Monday weather: the useful timings

The Met Office’s Brighton forecast shows 40% precipitation probabilities at 3am–5am, 30% at 6am and 10% at 7am–8am. These are forecast probabilities for the selected location and hours, not measured rainfall or a promise that every street will be dry.

The table shows north to north-easterly winds around 13mph at 8am, with gusts near 27mph. Temperatures reach 13°C around noon–2pm, feeling nearer 10°C. A sheltered sunny spot and an exposed part of the seafront may therefore feel quite different.

The separate regional outlook, updated at 4pm Sunday, describes a mostly dry Monday with sunny spells, a windy coast and possible coastal showers in Kent. Its regional maximum should not be substituted for the Brighton point forecast.

What residents need to know

Check the hourly forecast for your departure and return journey rather than relying on the daily icon. Use the live warning service separately: this report does not extend Sunday morning’s fog warning into Monday.

Drivers and bus passengers using Elm Grove should also read our junction closure report. A brighter forecast does not remove a signed road closure. Check operator service updates for your route.

Brighton Locals’ view

Editorial judgement: Monday looks more useful for daytime outdoor plans than the overnight cloud suggests. The practical trade-off is the cool breeze: dress for the journey and exposure, rather than the afternoon maximum alone.

What to watch next

Check the next forecast before Monday departure, especially the early rain probabilities and wind. Small timing changes matter more to a commuter than a general description of the whole day.

Bottom line: Expect brighter spells, carry a warm layer and plan around the roadworks.
