Brighton Friday weather is expected to put the highest rain risk around the morning commute on 16 October 2026, before brighter intervals later. The Met Office’s Brighton hourly forecast checked on Thursday evening gives residents a more useful planning signal than simply calling the whole day wet.

At a glance

  • Rain probabilities rise to 70% at 6am and 90% at 7am and 8am.
  • The hourly outlook shows sunny intervals from 10am, with rain chances easing further afterwards.
  • Forecast gusts reach about 28mph around 7–8am.
  • Temperatures fall into single figures late on Friday evening.

Brighton Friday weather: when to plan around the rain

The Met Office’s Brighton location forecast puts the clearest wet-weather signal between 6am and 9am. The associated regional forecast, issued at 4pm on 15 October, describes a mild, wet start with clearing from the north later in the morning.

The local hourly figures show a 40% rain chance at 10am, falling to 20% at 11am and 10% at noon. A brighter weather symbol does not promise a completely dry hour, and precise clearance times can shift.

What that means for the school run and commute

Our practical reading is to put waterproofs where you can reach them before leaving home and allow flexibility if your journey involves walking to a bus stop or station. Gusts make a hood or suitable coat worth considering alongside an umbrella. These are planning suggestions, not confirmation of transport disruption.

If an outdoor errand can move from the early morning to later in the day, the current forecast favours the later slot. Do not carry that advice over automatically to a hill walk or sea activity: those require the relevant location and conditions check.

Brighton Locals’ view

Our assessment is that timing is the useful part of this forecast. The morning has the strongest rain signal; writing off the whole of Friday would hide the improving picture. Equally, one forecast table is not a guarantee of the exact minute the rain ends.

What to check next

Open the hourly Brighton forecast again before an early departure. Our rain-probability explainer explains how to read the percentages. Check your transport operator’s own live service information if you need to know whether a particular journey is running.

Plan for a wet start, keep later plans flexible and take a layer if you will be out into the evening.
