Brighton Sunday weather is forecast to begin with mist on 1 November before sunny intervals develop by late morning, according to the Met Office outlook checked on Friday evening. The city forecast gives a maximum of 14°C and sunset at 4.35pm. For families, walkers and visitors, that makes the timing of an outing more useful than the daytime temperature alone.
Brighton Sunday weather: plan around the morning change
The Met Office’s Brighton location forecast shows the morning-to-late-morning transition. It does not establish one precise clearing time for every street or a route across Sussex. A symbol for the city should not be read as a visibility guarantee at a rural departure point or on higher ground.
For a flexible outing, the forecast supports comparing a late-morning departure with an early start. That is a planning judgement, not a promise of clear views. The short afternoon also matters: a plan built around a long daylight return should account for the 4.35pm sunset rather than summer habits.
A forecast is separate from a warning
Mist in a location forecast is not itself a formal weather warning. During our check, the Met Office warning webpage displayed an issue message saying its information could be out of date. We are therefore not treating its apparent absence of alerts as a verified all-clear. Check the official warning service again before travelling.
Brighton Locals’ view
Our judgement: there is a useful prospect of a brighter later morning, but the sensible gain is flexibility over departure time. The uncertainty is local visibility and exactly when it improves. A fixed early journey needs a route check; a leisure trip may be easier to move later.
What you should do
Reopen the hourly forecast on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Check the destination as well as Brighton, particularly for an inland journey. If visibility is poor on the road, use the Highway Code’s adverse-weather guidance and respond to the conditions you can actually see. Allow time to clear windows before setting off.
For Saturday plans, our separate Halloween outlook covers 31 October. Sunday’s forecast is a different period; neither report assesses whether a beach or sea activity is safe.
What happens next: Sunday’s hourly visibility forecast and any updated warning information will decide whether the current late-morning improvement remains a useful planning window.
