Hove Station bus diversions will affect routes 7, 21 and 3X from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026, according to Brighton & Hove Buses. The important detail is direction: the services do not all lose their station stop in the same way or on the same dates.

Hove Station bus diversions: match the stop to the journey

The operator’s Goldstone Villas diversion notice lists both station stop directions, then gives the route-specific instructions above. Read those instructions together: the notice does not say every northbound bus is suspended throughout the week. It does not announce a closure of the railway station.

The National Rail station plan is a useful second source for station entrances, lifts and the usual bus-stop locations. It is a station layout, rather than a live works map or confirmation of an accessible temporary walking route.

Why it matters locally

A short bus diversion can be a significant change when it forms the last part of a rail journey. Someone meeting a train may need to agree a different meeting point; passengers with luggage or limited mobility should establish the walking connection before choosing a tight interchange.

What you should do

Check your route and direction in the operator’s live notices, then look up the named alternative stop in its journey planner. Allow extra transfer time. For specific access requirements, ask the operator about the current route between the replacement stop and station entrance rather than assuming the usual connection remains available.

Our children’s bus fares guide covers a separate question: which family fare applies once the route is planned.

Brighton Locals’ view

Publishing replacement stops is useful. The practical test is whether a passenger can identify the correct one for their particular direction. Keeping the 3X’s two-day university-bound change separate from the week’s other arrangements makes this notice easier to use.

What happens next

The published diversion window ends on 30 October. Check for an extension or revised stopping arrangements before your journey; the notice does not provide a daily reopening time.

Plan the connection around the replacement stop, not just the train timetable.
