Brighton Dome Comedy Festival begins today, Friday 16 October 2026, with shows across Brighton Dome and Komedia until 25 October. For anyone choosing a night out, the immediate question is which performance, room and start time their ticket covers: this is a programme across venues, not a single evening with one admission price.
Brighton Dome Comedy Festival: what is on tonight?
The organiser’s current programme lists Jazz Emu and Catherine Bohart at the Corn Exchange alongside the opening-night shows. It also includes performances at Komedia, so read the venue on the booking page rather than assuming everything takes place in Brighton Dome’s Concert Hall.
Celya AB: We Must Stop Meeting Like This has doors at 18:15, a 19:00 start and an approximate 20:40 finish. It is listed for ages 16+. The show page asks anyone using captioning to contact the ticket office on 01273 709709 or access@brightondome.org.
Tom Davis: Spudgun has doors at 18:45, starts at 19:30 and is scheduled to finish around 21:35. The Brighton and Hove News preview, published on 19 September, independently identifies the same opening-night Concert Hall booking. That preview is background, not today’s announcement.
What visitors need to know
Brighton Dome’s booking policy says advertised ticket prices include fees, with no extra order fee; posting physical tickets costs an additional £2.50. This does not establish Komedia’s charges or confirm seats remain available for every show. Check the final choice and total before paying.
The organiser says all performances at Brighton Dome are live captioned. Do not extend that statement automatically to every event at the partner venue. The main programme currently labels Finding Your Funny Workshop postponed, so do not travel on the strength of its previously advertised dates.
Brighton Locals’ view
The partnership offers a useful range of rooms and prices, while captioning strengthens access. The practical challenge is keeping a multi-venue festival legible: the room, age restriction and access booking matter as much as the comedian’s name.
What happens next
The opening weekend leads into further events through 25 October. Use the official programme for current availability and changes. For the other venue’s general arrival and ticket questions, our Komedia Brighton guide provides separate practical context.
Bottom line: choose the show first, then verify its venue and access arrangements before setting off.
