No Southern trains between Three Bridges and Horsham or Barnham this weekend

No Southern trains are running between Three Bridges and Horsham or Barnham on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September because of engineering work.

The closure affects journeys between London Victoria, Gatwick Airport, Horsham and destinations along the West Sussex coast, including Bognor Regis, Chichester and Portsmouth.

Southern train disruption this weekend

Southern says all lines between Horsham and Barnham are closed for planned engineering work. Passengers travelling between London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour will have an amended service diverted via Hove and Worthing, with additional calls at Three Bridges, Worthing and Ford.

Tickets can be used on Thameslink services between Three Bridges and Horsham at no extra cost. Rail replacement buses are operating between Horsham, Pulborough and Barnham, while a shuttle train is running between Barnham and Bognor Regis.

Replacement vehicles may be busier than usual, so passengers are advised to allow extra time and check their route before travelling.

Late-night service change

The 23:16 Southern service from London Victoria to Chichester on Saturday will be diverted to terminate at Littlehampton. A replacement bus will run from Angmering to Chichester, calling at Ford and Barnham.

Full details and live updates are available on the official Southern service updates page. Passengers can also use the National Rail journey planner before setting off.

Anyone flying from Gatwick this weekend should build extra time into journeys from West Sussex. Travellers may also want to check our recent update on the air traffic control outage that disrupted Gatwick flights.
